10 Movies From This Decade That Better F***ing Get Sequels

6. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Scott PilgrimThe Pitch: The continued adventures of Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) and co., as Scott comes up against another video game-inspired threat. Likelihood: Y'see, this one's tricky for a number of reasons. Firstly, Edgar Wright's movie covered all of Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novels to date, and short of either a) O'Malley writing new material or b) Edgar Wright coming up with something entirely original, there's not really anything left to draw from. The bigger roadblock, however, is the massively underwhelming box office performance of the first film, taking only $47.6 million worldwide, when even after tax rebates, the film cost Universal $60 million. Though it has performed well on home video and is a certified cult classic, that's not really enough to entice a studio to take another gamble on this property (even with a severely reduced budget). 2/10.
