Yes, technically this is 'Lady Gotham' but I'll be damned if Joel Schumacher's fooling me with a couple of superficial changes to the statue. Besides, how can it not make the list when poor Lady Liberty takes a helicopter to the face in the opening act? Batman Forever marked the franchise's descent into a nipple-filled, high-camp farce that almost made the 1960's TV series look like Christopher Nolan's Bat-movies by comparison. The opening sequence of the movie see Val Kilmer's pudgy-faced Dark Knight in pursuit of Tommy Lee Jones' scenery-munching Two-Face, who makes his getaway before some poor sap face-plants a chopper directly into the statue's head. Although there are a few cosmetic changes made for her re-purposing to Gotham City, it is unmistakably Lady Liberty. A lighthouse-esque rotating torch would no doubt come in handy at times, but certainly not when a helicopter crashes into your face.
