10 Movies People Hate For The Wrong Reasons

7. Super Mario Bros

Why People Hate It: Because it's an incredibly beloved video game that was given a film adaptation that makes little to no sense, and it doesn't really know whether it wants to be a kiddie film or a movie for adults. Even Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo went on record saying how much of a train wreck this production was, saying that they both knew how horrible it was while they were film and that they just drank all the time to get through it. Not exactly a shining endorsement. Why People Should Hate It: Well€they shouldn't. Not really. Super Mario Bros has a lot of flaws and it's by no stretch of the imagination a good film, but at the same time it's so utterly inoffensive that it seems almost mean-spirited to hate it. It's just a goofy little movie about an iconic video game, and all it's trying to do is have some fun. Super Mario Bros as a movie isn't perfect, but it's hardly worthy of your hate. It's kind of like taking a swing at a kid who's using crutches.
