A film about being inside a video game, and probably the best film ever made around the concept of video games, Tron is pretty much a video game in every sense. One of the first films to ever use CGI, Tron is a cult classic and I'm still waiting for a current-gen video game adaptation. The disc duels, the light cycle matches... the plot plays out like a collection of video game stages, but this film is from the 80s, so it's all the more impressive that it managed to capture the essence of what many 3D games would turn out to be years down the line. I think this film isn't mentioned enough as having a heavy impact on the gaming industry, but it surely must have. I don't think it's any coincidence that many modern-day games follow a similar structure and I imagine this is a favourite flick of many video game developers out there. Or, at least, it should be. Well, that's my list, any films you would put in your list? Sound off in the comments and follow me on Twitter @TBroomey so we can discuss our mutual love of films, games and hatred of Michael Bay.
