10 Movies Quentin Tarantino Should Make Instead Of The Hateful Eight

6. A 1930s Gangster Film

While doing the press rounds for Django Unchained, Tarantino let slip that he would love to make a 1930s-period gangster film, which caused the media to jump on his every word and analyse it death, assuming that this would be his next project. Nothing has come of it to date, but to see the director tackling another period movie with his signature dialogue and stylised violence could make for a very diverting entry indeed. The gangster movie is one genre that just hasn't done very well lately, with efforts like Public Enemies and Gangster Squad ending up as little more than cliched, effortless knock-offs. If there's one thing we can expect from QT though, it's that it would be original and full of personality, so if he feels like replacing The Hateful Eight with a period flick of a very different kind, this could be the one to go for.
