10 Movies Scenes That You Probably Fast-Forwarded As A Kid

2. Cheer Up, Charlie - Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

How does a three minute scene in which a sad woman repeats the phrase "Cheer Up, Charlie," over and over again - intercut with shots of a small boy walking through the streets of an unremarkable town - sound to you? If you answered, "absolutely bloody awful," then you're right on track. So here's another song (it's funny how many of these picks are musical-based) that seems to have been implemented to extend the overall runtime or something. The inherent problem with "Cheer Up, Charlie" is that they couldn't think of a way to make this less dull and just shot it anyway, with the movie's protagonist, Charlie Bucket, wandering around with a sad look stuck on his face. Compare it with the outrageous, colourful hi-jinks associated with the rest of the movie, then, and it's no wonder that EVERY SINGLE VHS COPY of this movie had been worn out at this exact part due to an excessive amount of fast-forwarding.
