Fandom’s favourite filmmaker Rian Johnson returns in 2019 with his followup to The Last Jedi. This $40m murder mystery described as a modern take on a classic whodunnit, will hopefully return the director to his genre twisting roots where he found success with the likes of Looper and Brick.
Starring 007 Himself Daniel Craig, MCU veteran Chris Evans (in what may be his first post Captain America outing) Everybody’s favourite Holographic girlfriend Ana De Armas and scream queens of the moment, Toni Collette and Jamie Lee Curtis. This screenplay has certainly drawn in some top tier talent with Michael Shannon. Lakeith Stanfield and Christopher Plummer to boot.
Whether Last Jedi haters launch a boycott of the movie remains to seen, but if Johnson comes out fighting, audiences may be powerless to resists the filmmakers charms. Set for release November 29th, right before Star Wars hit theatres once more, Rain Johnson might have just enough time to find an audience for another cult classic.
