10 Movies That Made You Say 'WTF Were They Thinking'

4. M.O.D.O.K - Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania

Neither of the title characters were the big selling point of Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania. No-one went to the cinema to see Scott Lang or Hope Van Dyne - they went to see Kang the Conqueror. He was the whole reason this movie was chosen to open Phase Five, after all.

However, there was another villain that piqued audience interest prior to the film's release: the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. The look of the character alone was something that was always going to be difficult to bring into live action, but even so, it was tough to imagine it being executed any worse than this.

M.O.D.O.K's backstory was changed for the MCU, as the character was the new identity of Darren Cross. The villain of the first Ant-Man movie faced complications when shrinking down to the Quantum Realm, and essentially became a giant head with tiny limbs. The results onscreen were horrendous.

There has been a lot said about the quality of the MCU's visual effects in recent years, but this has arguably been the worst yet. M.O.D.O.K's armour looked decent, but being greeted with Corey Stoll's giant face when the mask lifted was utterly laughable. A bad idea, badly executed.
