10 Movies That Ruin The Credibility Of The IMDb Top 250

3. Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009)

With this entry, I could simply list the names of more than ten thousand films that deserve a place on the IMDb Top 250 in place of - brace yourself - Hachi: A Dog's Tale. I won't, because that is an insult to your intelligence.

This is a film that critics called "bland beyond endurance" and "the film equivalent of Nice biscuits, or snow globes, or N-Dubz." Yes, it's a sweet, inoffensive, family film, but it also has the makings of a TV movie - that it ever found its way in such an esteemed position on the internet's biggest movie site is bizarre.

Guys, The Iron Giant isn't on the Top 250. Neither is British classic Kes. Kes! Hell, the 1993 version of Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey - in itself a tad too sweet - is more deserving of a place.

At least Marley & Me, an overrated film in its own right, had a sense of humour. And yet with this inclusion, we must ask ourselves: how can one take the list seriously with this saccharine greeting card of a film lurking in its midst? The answer is: you can't.
