10 Movies That Were Almost Completely Unrecognisable

3. World War Z Used To Have A Giant Battle In Russia

Brad Pitt€™s zombie blockbuster had some well publicised problems during production, and reports had it that Pitt and the director didn€™t get along. In World War Z Pitt is a UN Investigator trying to find a cure to a zombie epidemic. In the released film he escapes Jerusalem on a plane in act two and crash lands in Wales. The last act is a siege movie in a medical centre as he and some doctors make a breakthrough. But this final stretch is a replacement for a more epic finale set in Russia. As originally shot the plane lands in Russia, where Pitt is forced into the Army to help fight the zombies. Months pass and he leads his own kick-ass zombie slaying team. There is one final large scale zombie battle before he finally gets to ring his wife to check in. It turns out she€™s had to prostitute herself to a soldier (Matthew Fox) to keep their children safe. The soldier warns Pitt not to come back. The movie ends with him on a boat heading to America to save his family. Cue sequel hook! This dark ending didn€™t test well. Damon Lindelof was brought in (again), and he thought the final battle was too much and the movie needed to scale back. The studio agreed and a new, happier conclusion was decided upon. The film got average reviews but ultimately earned some big bucks.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
