For Your Consideration, a 2006 awards season parody from This Is Spinal Tap director Christopher Guest, saw the filmmaker call in seemingly every favour at his disposal to fill the cast with an almost unfathomable number of notable names and faces.
The ensemble includes - but is in no way limited to - Catherine O'Hara, Ed Begley Jr., Eugene Levy, Harry Shearer, Guest himself, Jennifer Coolidge, Parker Posey, John Krasinski, Sandra Oh, Richard Kind, Bob Balaban, Michael McKean, Ary Graynor, Simon Helberg, Fred Willard, Jane Lynch, and Ricky Gervais.
Even with many of these actors showing up for small bit-parts, that's wild, but between the rather niche subject matter and consensus that it isn't one of Guest's better films, it flopped at the box office and evaporated into the void.
With Catherine O'Hara enjoying a major career resurgence courtesy of hit sitcom Schitt's Creek, though, it sure feels about time for folks to finally discover this one - even if only for O'Hara's terrific performance, which was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award.
