10 Movies With Ridiculous Endings
1. Rocky IV
In what was billed as an epic Cold War showdown - the Soviet Union and the USA finally get to battle it out in a non-world-ending way - no one could have foreseen how obnoxiously patriotic this American-made movie could have ended.
The fourth instalment of the Rocky franchise set up possibly the most dramatic final fight that the Italian-American boxer would ever endure; in an exhibition match, Ivan Drago unintentionally kills Rocky's friend, rival and mentor, Apollo Creed, though is somewhat colder about caring whether or not he survives the brutal beating.
Rocky took Drago's words to heart and, after feeling guilty for not throwing the towel in, vows to beat Drago himself.
After several scenes of arduous training in the build-up to the showdown in Moscow, the bout finally arrives at heightened tensions between the Russian audience and Rocky.
Although Drago takes the first round with ease, Rocky fights back admirably, landing some heavy punches and drawing blood from his foe.
In what is an absolute ludicrous turn of events, the initially hostile crowd slowly begin to support Rocky instead, chanting his name much to the disgrace of Ivan Drago.
After winning the fight, Rocky delivers some hammy dialogue about how "everybody can change" in a thinly-veiled dig at the capitalist/communist differences in the nations.
Just awful.
