10 Movies You Either Love Or Hate

4. Kill Bill

KB Quentin Tarantino has his fans that will defend him until the bitter end, including Death Proof. He has his detractors that say he hasn't done anything decent since Jackie Brown and he has his adversaries who claim he's one of the most overrated directors of all time and that his movies are self-indulgent, adolescent rubbish. Kill Bill is the movie that generally splits the three camps. It's over four hours long and essentially a rip-off/homage of the martial arts movies Tarantino has in his DVD collection. A lot of people loved it, because of the martial arts extravaganza and infinite aura of cool, but a lot of people really detested it. It's no secret that Tarantino is seriously ill-disciplined in his writing and editing as he drags everything out for as long as possible and many would say Kill Bill is where his problems as a filmmaker started. It has many of the negative qualities that have occupied Tarantino's output since the new millennium, but it has bombastic scenes of martial arts mayhem that hypnotised viewers. Tarantino also managed to anger and alienate a large part of his audience by claiming that Kill Bill is a feminist movie, which it most definitely isn't. Tarantino is one of the most divisive characters in cinema and Kill Bill is probably his most debated movie.
