10 Movies You Forgot Had Incredible Casts (And Why You Forgot)

4. Tropic Thunder

Anchorman 2 Thumb
Paramount Pictures

Vietnam, iconic one liners and Tom Cruise in a fat suit? Who doesn’t love this self-aware comedy that gets overlooked too much? Tropic Thunder is often forgotten about in the slew of comedies released in the 2000’s but the Ben Stiller directed war spoof is a hidden gem with one of the most unique scripts in the genre. This film combines the talent of some of the best comic actors around to star in a movie inside of a movie. This film combined all the grit and blood of Platoon with Ben Stiller’s signature Dodgeball style comedy.

The cast really make this completely self-aware script the comedy masterpiece that it is, combining some A-list comic actors with regular A-list superstars. Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr, Jack Black and Jay Baruchel are the memorable front runners, but this hilarious troupe are supported by an incredible roster. Steve Coogan, Brandon T. Jackson, Reggie Lee, Danny McBride, Bill Hader and an unrecognisable Tom Cruise build the top tier cast in this subversive war flick.

But it seems a lot of favours were pulled for this movie, because the cameos just don’t stop with Matthew McConaughey, Tyra Banks, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jason Bateman, Alicia Silverstone and a hysterical glimpse of Tobey Maguire joining the mix. This film is fit to bursting with brilliant actors.

The Reason Why You Forgot – Who couldn’t excuse you for only remembering the main four? One of Robert Downey Jr.’s funniest and unique roles with Ben Stiller and Jack Black and Jay Baruchel. Just a massive attention-grabbing quartet.
