10 Movies You Forgot Had Incredible Casts (And Why You Forgot)

3. This Is The End

Anchorman 2 Thumb
Columbia Pictures

This Seth Rogen and Co. feature film broke the confines of what a cast and a self-aware script can do for a comedy film. A brilliantly acted, written and shot film where all the actors play themselves, trapped in a house during the apocalypse with some A-class comedy and Class A drugs. This movie makes you laugh out loud and doesn’t try to be more than its aware of. A cool story of friendships, celebrity lives and redemption that you don’t expect.

There are some crazy moments in this spoof disaster movie but Seth Rogen and his funniest Hollywood friends all joined forces to drop this comedic masterpiece and it seems every favour was called in for this cast.

Not only do the staple Seth Rogen and James Franco headline but they are joined by a brilliant ensemble cast of Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson. But then, in true Rogen fashion, he just had to try and kill off every celebrity he knows. Michael Cera, Emma Watson, Mindy Kaling, David Krumholtz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Rihanna, Martin Starr, Paul Rudd, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari and a gimpy post-apocalyptic Channing Tatum all offer up their comedic talents, no matter how short-lived they may be.

And let’s not forget the angelic reunion of the Backstreet Boys. Who couldn’t love this unique modern comedy classic?

The Reason Why You Forgot – The brilliant cameos of themselves are killed off so quickly you forget just how many people jumped on this bandwagon. You get so involved with the main ensemble and it’s so refreshing.

I currently attend the University of Salford, studying Broadcast Journalism. That's it really. Told you there was nothing special. If you're really that desperate for something to do, follow me on socials. Yes, I do like that ego boost.
