10 Movies You Hate For The Wrong Reasons

4. Alien Vs. Predator

Why You Hate It: One reason, really: Paul W.S. Anderson. The filmmaker is of course a scourge upon video game movie adaptations, having made mostly mediocre-to-terrible films out of Mortal Kombat, AvP, Resident Evil and now the upcoming Monster Hunter.

The irony, though, is that this is actually one of Anderson's most competent directorial efforts to date, with the majority of the film's faults in fact resting with the script. But even so, that's not the real reason you should be dumping on this film.

Why You Should Hate It: Because it's got a PG-13 rating, and no movie in either the Alien or Predator franchises should be deemed appropriate for children.

As a result, the theatrical cut of AvP is full of awkward cutaways and barely a lick of blood, while even the Unrated home video version simply includes some occasional splashes of CGI gore. Boo.

As deserving of your derision as AvP is for selling out and ignoring fans' wishes, it's only too ironic that the R-rated sequel released a few years later was somehow worse, despite featuring brutal decapitations and the deaths of both a child and a pregnant woman.
