The Oscars love a biopic. Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill, Renee Zellweger as Judy Garland, Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, the list is endless. Many famous faces have been portrayed by other usually more attractive famous faces, but perhaps none as strange or surprising as Hulk Hogan.

Ryan Murphy’s book Conspiracy- Peter Thiel, Hulk Hogan, Gawker and the Anatomy of Intrigue, will undergo a big-screen adaptation by Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence. The film will depict the epic $140 lawsuit between Hogan and Gawker Media, that led to Gawker declaring bankruptcy and closing permanently. Hogan vs Gawker, was a brawl as massive as any of Mr. America’s WWE classics, and sparked several debates over privacy, free speech and media.

The trial has already spawned a successful documentary, Nobody Speak: Hulk Hogan, Gawker and Trials of a Free Press, along with several potential TV adaptations. Lawrence’s film is yet to get a release date with the director currently developing a Battlestar Galactica reboot. Todd Phillips (The Joker) is also reportedly working on a Hogan biopic with Chris Hemsworth lined up to star as the wrestler.

With both films reportedly in development, it could be a real Royal Rumble for that box-office belt.

Jamie Armstrong hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
