10 Must-See Comedy Horror Films For Halloween

3. Evil Dead 2 & Army Of Darkness

The Evil Dead sequels have both been included as one entry in this list so as not to leave you feeling cheated. Although the original film, directed by Sam Raimi, was a tongue in cheek horror film, it certainly couldn't be considered a comedy. The sequels on the other hand ran with the tongue in cheek vibe of the original and become comedy horror classics. Evil Dead 2 starts where the original left off, with Bruce Campbell's Ash in a cabin in the woods with an evil ancient force permeating the forest outside. Ash continues to battle the ancient force which at one point possesses his hand, which he is then forced to cut off and replace with a chainsaw, giving the classic shotgun/prosthetic chainsaw hand combo we all know and love. Army of Darkness starts where Evil Dead 2 leaves off, with Ash being sucked into a giant portal opened up in order to banish the evil force lurking in the woods. Our hero wakes up to find himself in medieval times where he helps the confused locals fight evil with the help of his superior futuristic knowledge as well as his chainsaw and 'boomstick'.
