2. Cloud Atlas
To say that the story line for Cloud Atlas is pretty confusing, is somewhat of an understatement. Told via seven separate, yet interconnected stories that stretch from historical drama, through to a distant sci-fi world, you can start to understand why Cloud Atlas is causing more than a few viewers to scratch their head in wonder. The film was adapted from a 2004 novel by David Mitchell and has reportedly been produced with a $102 million budget, making Cloud Atlas a pretty expensive bit of filmmaking! The drama, directed by the Wachowski siblings (The Matrix) is well worth seeing just so you can stand out from the crowd and say that you've seen Cloud Atlas, and you understood it! The film has an impressive cast featuring Tom Hanks (Big), Susan Sarandon (Alfie), Halle Berry (X-Men), Hugh Grant (Four Weddings and a Funeral) and Jim Broadbent (The Iron Lady).
