Almost every movie fan would have definitely heard of Birdman; especially after it swept the Academy Awards back in 2015. Aside from its performances, the film might best be remembered for its unique presentation of appearing to be shot in one whole take (despite hours and days passing throughout), but even from the first scene, audiences were told that this isn't just a film about a has-been actor working on a passion project.

If the premise were taken by another director, there's a strong possibility that Birdman might have ended up being a plain old movie about a man going through a mid-life crises. But instead, through Alejandro González Iñárritu and his unique style of storytelling, the tale of Riggan Thomson (Michael Keaton) reviving his career tells an every greater story.

Birdman catches audiences off guard almost immediately with the first shot lingering on a hovering Michael Keaton, talking to a figment of his imagination. When the telekinesis starts to rear its head, there is a moment where audiences start questioning how much of the film is set within reality.

But the fantasy aspects are few and far between, and eventually newcomers to the film will be more invested in the narrative of Riggan and the cast & crew of his stage show.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
