5. Skyfall

"Agent?" "Provocateur" "Murder?" "Employment" "Skyfall...?" "... done." It's enough to get anyone's heart racing when watching a teaser trailer. So you can forgive me for thinking that the essence of this film would deal with some 'threat to the globe' type plan hatched by the brilliant Javier Bardem. Skyfall could be anything... a lethal missile, a corrupt computer program or even a deadly satellite waiting in the Earth's atmosphere. Skyfall deals with Bond on a much smaller stage with this entry into the saga and for the most part, delights wonderfully with its new ideas and new characters - its all round fresh feel. Is it just me though? Did anyone else feel largely ripped off when Skyfall was revealed to be what it was (sorry for the vagueness - I'm trying not to ruin it for those foolish enough not to have seen it yet!)? Whilst I was quite prepared for 'Skyfall' to be something a little unbond-like, I felt they were taking a few too many indulgences when the mysterious title's reveal came and as such, I felt left wanting a greater secret to leave the cinema with. Luckily I got it... it wasn't Skyfall related but it put a massive grin on my face all the same!
