10 New Movies Bound To Become Classics

1. Bo Burnham: Inside

Palm Springs
Netflix

For many people, Bo Burnham's latest special Inside is already a classic. Filmed during the COVID-19 lockdown, it finds the comedian taking on directing, editing, producing and writing duties to create a stand-up musical special that defies genre and acts as a surreal exploration of a time when the world stopped moving.

Tackling countless themes such as isolation, depression, perfectionism, social media and his own growth during the pandemic (which he never actually mentions by name), Bo Burnham offers up some of his best songs and most meaningful moments of introspection throughout the film.

Like his other specials, Inside finds Burnham being at once hysterically funny and heartbreaking, and the results are one of the best comedy specials ever filmed. It's completely unique in its execution and structure, and there'll never be anything else like it. If that doesn't make a film classic, what does?

Aidan Whatman hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
