10 Obviously Uninsurable Actors Who Insist On Doing Their Own Stunts

10. Harrison Ford

It's impossible to talk about Harrison Ford in the context of stunts without mentioning Vic Armstrong, the legendary stunt double who stood in for Ford on some of the most impressive stunts ever committed to film. Armstrong has portrayed everyone from Indiana Jones to James Bond and Superman, and deservedly has been named the most prolific stunt performer by the Guinness Book of Records. But Harrison Ford isn't afraid to get his hands dirty either - he was more than happy to get into the role in more ways than most actors would during the filming of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. He told reporters at the time, €œI have picked up plenty of bumps, bruises, and cuts over the years,€ and being in his mid-60s wasn't about to stop him from picking up a few more. No doubt the insurance guys were watching on nervously from the sidelines, but as Ford himself pointed out in an interview, the danger factor isn't quite what it used to be. €œI think I did more in this film than I did in the last one, simply because of advances in safety techniques that allowed us to perform some of the stunts that we wouldn€™t have been able to do before.€ It's a hell of a lot safer jumping from one car to another when you're doing it in front of a green screen rather than on real-life roads.
