10 Obviously Uninsurable Actors Who Insist On Doing Their Own Stunts
3. Tom Cruise
Few Hollywood actors have consistently thrown themselves into their action roles as literally and as often as A-list superstar Tom Cruise. It's perhaps even more impressive that Cruise is now in his 50s and seems more undeterred than ever before to get involved in some of the riskiest and most impressive stunts possible. From The Last Samurai to Knight and Day, the list of stunts performed by Cruise is a long one, but it is his work on the Mission: Impossible series which really stands out. Cruise appears to be equally happy doing his own stunt driving or even clinging to the top of a speeding car, but it was the vertiginous sequence on the side of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai which had audiences gasping in awe. Cruise appeared perfectly at ease clambering around the side of the building himself, not put out by the fact he was dangling over a mile from the ground below. Not to be outdone by her co-star, when filming Knight and Day Cameron Diaz got in on the action as well, performing many of her own stunts, including a number of driving sequences. She said of the experience, "When I went to the Golden Globes this year in the middle of filming Knight And Day, I had lumps up and down my arms and scraped knees. I loved it!" We doubt her insurance agent felt the same way.
