10 (Other) Movies About Wrestling That Hollywood Needs To Make

4. The Von Erich Family Deaths

The Von Erichs are one of the premiere wrestling families, and absolutely the one most touched by tragedy. Family patriarch Fritz lived to the age of 68, though in a feat that defies incredible odds, five of his six sons died before him, three of which were the result of suicides. The first son, Jack Jr, died aged 6 after being accidentally electrocuted and drowning, David Von Erich died from heart failure following an intestinal problem (though many believe that he actually overdosed), Mike took a drugs overdose, Chris shot himself in the head, and Kerry - the most famous of the sons, also known as The Texas Tornado in the WWF - shot himself through the chest. After Kerry's death, Fritz and his wife divorced, and he then died of cancer 4 years later. Though by no means a pleasant tale, it's utterly fascinating that the family has been so touched by death, and it is only Kevin von Erich who remains to pick up the pieces and uphold the family name.
