10 Painfully Bad One-Liners In Otherwise Great Movies

8. "Rest In Pieces" - The Expendables 2

After the commercial success of 2010's The Expendables, it wasn't long until Sylvester Stallone's newest venture presented us with a sequel, The Expendables 2. Critics weren't exactly crazy over this second outing but it was certainly an improvement on the first film and it provided us with another round of action-packed shoot-outs.

That being said, The Expendables 2 had some notoriously questionable dialogue including Sylvester Stallone's quip, "Rest in pieces." Stallone's nonchalant delivery didn't make it any easier to work out of this was a bad joke or intended to be a serious line. Either way it's bad. You can't be blamed for wondering how this dad-joke ended up a slick action flick.

Then again, earlier in the scene we're subjected to the line, "With the power invested in me, I now pronounce you man and knife." The scene itself is a great action sequence and you can't fault the stunt choreography but the dialogue is another story. We don't need dodgy puns flying from every direction like bullets.
