10 Painfully Long Movie Marathons You Have To Do At Least Once

4. Star Wars - 1,079 Minutes (Mainline Movies) OR 1,347 Minutes (Including Anthology Movies)

The Films: Episode IV - A New Hope, Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Episode II - Attack of the Clones, Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Episode VII - The Force Awakens, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Episode VIII - The Last Jedi and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

How Long?: 17 hours, 59 minutes (mainline movies) or 22 hours, 27 minutes (including anthology movies).

Why You Have To Try It: How could any card-carrying Star Wars fan not at least attempt to watch all of the movies in one go? Granted, every year you wait you're basically making it harder for yourself at the current rate, but watching the eight mainline movies is certainly on the fringes of possibility for most people.

However, if you want to watch every single live-action Star Wars film - sorry, The Clone Wars, you're terrible - you're looking at dangerously close to an entire day of your life.

It's definitely not impossible, but you'll need an iron will alongside a hearty supply of energy drinks to get you through. As for the viewing order?

There are countless custom running orders online - including the famous "Machete" order, which omits The Phantom Menace entirely - but watching them in the order they released feels right, if only because it ensures you're viewing the movies within the appropriate context of their production.
