10 Painfully Long Movie Marathons You Have To Do At Least Once

2. Freddy Vs. Jason - 1,668 Minutes

Freddy Vs Jason
New Line Cinema

The Films: Friday the 13th, Friday the 13th Part 2, Friday the 13th Part III, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, Jason X, A Nightmare on Elm Street, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, Wes Craven's New Nightmare and Freddy vs. Jason.

How Long?: 27 hours, 48 minutes.

Why You Have To Try It: The Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street franchises are the aged kings of the slasher genre, and so it's all-too apt that they ended up facing off against one another in 2003's crossover film Freddy vs. Jason.

If you've got a serious stomach for terrible, repetitive sequels and can suffer through them for the awesome kills, why not perform the ultimate horror loyalty test by sitting through both franchises back-to-back, before finishing with the cherry-on-top that is Freddy vs. Jason?

To be clear, this marathon doesn't include either of the more recent remakes, "only" the original ten Friday the 13th movies and seven Elm Street ones. That makes a total of 18 films, and though they all sit around the tolerable 90-minute mark, the Jason films in particular have some real tough duds among the bunch.

As such, you may want to spice things up a bit by alternating between Jason and Freddy films, making the path to the so-bad-it's-amazing treasure that is Jason X that much easier.

Don't even try with this one unless you really love your trashy horror, but if you do, it's the ultimate rite of passage to prove your fandom.
