10 Past MCU Moments That Will Mean Something Big In Phase 4 And Beyond
1. Arishem Judges Humanity - Eternals
There is one weird side-effect of the Eternals, it was that in a twisted way Thanos actually helped Earth. By snapping away half the population, he inadvertently delayed the birth of a Celestial, an otherworldly being that would have needed every single human on Earth as a sacrifice to be born.
However, now that the Avengers have brought everyone back, the Eternals find themselves dealing with this problem. They’re able to save humanity temporarily, however, their creator, Arishem, a massive force who most likely could quickly decimate planets, decides to visit them to determine the fate of humanity.
He decides to spare them for now but will come back at a later date to determine if they truly deserve to live or not.
This is the first significant antagonist fully revealed in the MCU that can rival the likes of Thanos. Suppose it is true that the MCU is headed for a multiversal conflict akin to Secret Wars; in that case, we’ll likely see a villain as huge as Arishem appears alongside other primary antagonists such as Galactus or Kang The Conqueror.
