Played in the mini-series by: Corin Nemec As Captain Tripps devastates the world, Harold Lauder is a 16 year old boy living in Ogunquit, Maine. Harold is a social outcast at his local high school, as his obnoxiousness and arrogance hinder his ability to interact with others and form meaningful relationships. He is also obese and suffering from severe acne. His deceased older sister Amy was the best friend of Fran Goldsmith and as the novel progresses he and Fran decide to travel together in the hopes of finding other survivors. Along the way, Harold falls in love (or whatever passes for love in his mind) with Fran, although, the feelings are not reciprocated. After the duo meet up with Stu and Glen, it becomes apparent to Harold that his relationship with Fran is about to change and his whole persona takes a turn for the worse. OK, so Will Poulter is British, but he's already shown he is capable of pulling off an American accent in We Are The Millers. And no, he's not obese, but aren't actors transforming themselves for roles all the time? Acne? Hollywood makeup artists are pretty good. Besides, Harold loses weight and his complexion clears as the novel progresses. Beyond that though, Poulter has shown that he is a capable young actor, winning the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2014. And for anyone who saw him in his role as the aggravating Eustace Scrubb in The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, they know he is capable of channeling his inner pest and becoming Harold Lauder.
A self professed Stephen King/Star Wars geek and pop culture neophyte, Scott tends to spend much of his time alone pondering life's greatest mysteries.....he also depends heavily on his son Liam, a great sounding board, to set him straight on Star Wars issues and gives him advice on what EXACTLY he's doing wrong.
