10 Pivotal X-Men Moments The Movies Ignored
6. A New Team
There have been dozens of X-Teams, with over a hundred members in its 50 year run. But the A-Squad was always special and when the team changed in the comics - it was an event.
For a specific moment, let's go to the most recognized X-Men comic: Giant-Sized X-Men #1.
After years of being canceled, an all-new, all-different X-team literally leaps through the cover at the reader. The story starts right up with Xavier getting his new team together to go and save the original team. It's tense, action-packed and showcases the first and new teams perfectly.
That changing of the guard was one of the biggest moments in X-Men that it has led to many different stories where a new lineup would happen due to a story. The original trilogy of X-films did this in a passive way, introducing and showing a life around the Mansion which wasn't bad, but there was no fanfare or passing the torch moments.
Meanwhile, the new X-trilogy had a focus on specific characters throughout, making it harder to bring in newer faces to shine.
