10 Pivotal X-Men Moments The Movies Ignored
5. Magneto Rips The Adamantium From Wolverine
While the franchise was always referred to as the X-Men, the majority of the films all focussed on Wolverine. It's a fact that made X-fans more and more frustrated with each passing X-film, with each just seeming to want to praise one of Marvel's most popular characters instead of highlighting more obsucre figures.
Along the same lines, Magneto throughout the films became more militant, tip-toeing closer and closer to that one comparison that has always haunted the character.
The whole Fatal Attractions plot would have been amazing to see translated to the screen, but the one moment that would have just blown audiences away would have to be the climax wherein Magneto, enraged by nearly being gutted by the Canadian Canucklehead, rips all the adamantium out of Wolverine's body.
It was visceral to see on the page, but imagine just how gobsmacked audiences would have been seeing that. It would've given Wolverine a gripping character moment, made Magneto seem more of a threat and if they capped it off with Xavier's reaction to this - which was to mindwipe Magneto in a blind rage - it would've brought the X-Films to an almost unscalable height.
