10 Pivotal X-Men Moments The Movies Ignored
4. The Morlocks
The Morlocks are as big to the Marvel Universe as the Shi'ar Empire is, and yet the closest the films ever got to showing mutants that had to hide because of their appearance was one scene where Magneto is recruiting his army in The Last Stand.
It was no clearer than any time Mystique, as played by the beautiful Rebecca Romijn or Jennifer Lawrence, tried to say how ugly they were that having a legitimate group of sewer-dwelling mutants who were ostracized from society because of their appearance felt needed.
Meeting the Morlocks, particularly the moment when they take the angelic Warren Worthington because he's a pretty boy, would have added a richness to what was ultimately a very shallow pool.
Adding that extra dimension would have also allowed for one of the greatest X-Men moments, when Storm fought Calisto for control over the group to stop their gang-like ways. It could've also opened up the door to an adaptation of the epic Mutant Massacre, which would just have been a brutal and fantastic story to see unfold on the big screen.
