10 Predictable Horror Movie Twists Everyone Saw Coming

3. Countless Horror Movies - It's Not Over Yet!

Alright, alright, this one is cheating a bit, but this is used in so many films that it'd be unfair to pick just one example.

In so, so, so many horror films - especially studio horror films, slasher films and sequels - the film has seemingly wrapped up, with the villain finally defeated and the characters safe at last.

But then, boom! The villain jumps out of nowhere, usually kills one of the main characters and then the film ends. This type of ending has been done so frequently that you'll see it coming pretty much every single time.

What makes this all worse is that when films do this, they often seem to think they're being clever. It's as if the fake-out climax wasn't done by, oh let's see, 90% of all other horror films!

This type of ending might've been effective back when films like Halloween (1978) did it, but several decades and countless imitations later, this common tactic has lost pretty much all of its potency.
