7. Cable Will Cameo In New Mutants
Announcing a New Mutants movie was another bold movie by Fox. This is a property without the brand power of X-Men or the household-name characters to help sell it, but one that deserves a shot on the big screen nevertheless.
Rather than bringing the fans more superhero fodder, the Josh Boone-fronted movie will be straight-up horror and has been likened to The Shining during development, although there's supposed to be elements of John Hughes in there too.
Tonally speaking, New Mutants should be unlike anything comic book fans have seen from Marvel or DC, so let's hope it's a success, if only because that will encourage studios to take more risks in the future.
Much about the film beyond its basic plot and characters is being kept under wraps, but those well versed in their X-Men history will know there's reason to suspect that Josh Brolin's Cable will cameo in the film, possibly in its post-credits sequence.
Why is this a strong possibility? Well, because Cable made his first official appearance in a New Mutants comic book back in 1990. Putting him in the movie would be a fitting nod to that and a means of teasing the imminent Deadpool 2.
