10 Predictions For Fox's Upcoming Marvel Movies

4. Doctor Doom Will Serve As A Prequel

The Fantastic Four movie franchise is in the worst state it's ever been in - and that's saying something considering how the Tim Story films turned out - but Fox, it seems, has no plans to relinquish its cast-iron grip on the property and allow the rights to revert to Marvel Studios.

Legion and Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley has strongly hinted that he's working on a solo movie featuring the series' villain, Doctor Doom, and that might just be the best thing to happen to Marvel's first family on screen.

Expect the villain-centric project to focus squarely on Victor Von Doom, potentially telling his backstory with minimal involvement from the Fantastic Four.

Doom's origin will likely loop in a young Reed Richards and Ben Grimm, telling the story of how a rivalry born in a college science lab turned deadly. The action should then switch to Latveria and cut ties with all members of the superhero team.

That said, expect Fox to use the Doctor Doom movie as a launch vehicle for another Fantastic Four reboot, perhaps teasing the team's formation at the end of the film, almost like a reverse version of Batman Begins' sequel setup.
