A masterclass in modern giallo cinema, The Strange Colour Of Your Body's Tears is one of the projects brought to us by married French filmmakers Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani, the same duo behind Amer and Let The Corpses Tan. As the title suggests, this film is just as ludicrously amazing as it sounds.

Described as "a kaleidoscopic, synaesthetic psychodrama" by Sight & Sound, this visually chaotic love letter to the genre contains all the gory violence, mystery, and eroticism you could hope for as we follow businessman Dan (Klaus Tangel) search for his missing wife after he discovers she's missing when coming home from work one day. Knocking on the doors of his neighbours in his apartment building, this is a mystery movie unlike anything else you've seen.

Switching between the perspectives of those involved in this ever-growing mystery, the narrative is a head-scratching weave of stories within stories, all wrapped-up in a sinister and bloody nightmare.

Easily one of the strangest additions to this list, this film won't be to everyone's taste. However, if you think your mind can cope with the hypnotic and hallucinogenic contents of this film, then you're in for a wonderfully weird viewing experience.
