10 Radical Ideas To Reboot Wolverine On Film

1. Whatever Happened To The Wolverine?

Logan Jackman
Fox

Okay, stick with this one… the Logan who just supposedly died isn’t the only Logan inside that skull.

Days Of Future Past sees Logan’s psyche sent back in time from 2023 to 1973, possessing his younger self. At the end, his mind catapults forward to 2023 again… to find that apocalyptic future vanished, and the X-Men still alive.

Logan’s own history has changed too - he was captured by the Weapon X programme in 1973, not 1981, and never joined Team X. Escaping in 1983, at some point Logan joins the X-Men himself - the details are unknown past this point.

The original Logan - let’s call him L1 - isn’t privy to those fifty years when his mind rubberbands to take control of the 2023 body again. The Logan who lived those years - L2 - is trapped inside his own psyche while L1 runs his body, just like he was in 1973. L1 has nowhere else to go - he wiped out his original 2023 self along with the rest of that timeline.

Even if L1 is truly dead at the end of Logan, L2 should still exist somewhere. On the astral plane? Inside Logan’s skull, waiting to take over again? There’s more than one story in that...
