10 Radical Ideas To Reboot Wolverine On Film

5. The Problem Child

Logan Jackman
Marvel Comics

Laura Kinney may consider herself his daughter, but Wolverine has had plenty of biological children in the source material.

Daken was stolen from his murdered mother in 1946 and trained by psychopaths to hate his father. He inherited his senses, claws and healing factor as well as a peculiar pheromone power. Wolverine also fathered a son named Erista while in the Savage Land. Meanwhile, the less said about the Mongrels the better: all five are dead by Logan’s own hand, and no one’s going to miss them.

We’ve also seen multiple instances of Wolverine’s children on parallel worlds. James Hudson Jr was Logan’s son in the Ultimate universe, and alternate Logans have had three different kids with Mariko Yashida in two different timelines, as well as Storm, Mystique, Jean Grey and Elektra, amongst others.

Wolverine’s nearly half a century older in the movies than he is in the comics - but a buck and a half or two singles, that’s still a lot of loose change to be carrying around. It doesn’t necessarily have to be Daken, or Jimmy or any of the others: create a brand new child-of-Logan, give him/her a cool backstory, cast some hip young thing in the role, and let ‘er rip.
