10 Reasons Baby Driver Could Be The Surprise Movie Of The Summer
1. Advance Reviews Love It
It may not be out in cinemas yet, but attendees of the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas back in March were treated to a preview screening, and the critics there unanimously praised Wright’s latest effort.
In particular, the reviewers seemed to enjoy Wright’s style, describing the movie as an “adrenaline rush” with “equal parts slapstick and visceral thrills”. They also approved of the music, which the Telegraph’s Jane Mulkerrins predicted will be the “soundtrack of the summer”.
Or, as Rolling Stone put it: “Beyond. F#<&ING. Awesome.”
In fact, based on those reviews, Baby Driver currently has a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average score of 8.6/10, which is a seriously impressive set of numbers.
This doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll do as well with wide audiences, but it’s a very good sign, and we hope to agree with these critics when we can finally see Baby Driver on June 28th.
