6. Zack Snyder Knows What He's Doing
It might be easy to criticise Zack Snyder for his ADD, style-over-substance approach to filmmaking, but it's always been clear that with the right script, he can deliver a belter of a movie. Watchmen, for instance, was surely his most ambitious undertaking to date, and though it had its flaws, was largely deemed a success by critics and fans of the source material (even if its box office gross didn't reflect that). Similarly, with the guidance of both Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer for Man of Steel, Snyder delivered a unique spin on the Superman myth that was unlike anything we'd ever seen before. Though Snyder might not seem it at first glance, he is a skilled director when it comes to working with actors; he teased out of a vast ensemble cast in Watchmen a terrific bunch of performances that were extremely reverent to the source material (particularly Jackie Earle Hayley as Rorschach), and there's little reason to really doubt that he will do the same with Affleck in Batman vs. Superman. The man has had his failures - Sucker Punch being the most egregious - but with such stalwart names as Nolan and Goyer guiding him along, this one should be set for greatness, even cautious as we are.
