10 Reasons Guardians Of The Galaxy Is Better Than The Avengers
5. A Variety Of Interesting And Eclectic Characters
The Avengers movie had a fairly wide variety of characters - the vain Tony Stark AKA Iron Man, the brilliant but volatile Bruce Banner AKA the Hulk, the super soldier Steve Rogers AKA Captain America, the Asgardian thunder god Thor and the S.H.I.E.L.D. assassins Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton AKA Black Widow and Hawkeye. However, they were all humanoid and five out of the six of them were indeed human. Sure, they had a wide variety of interesting and emotion-packed backgrounds but, apart from Thor, they were all residents of and were all brought up on Earth. Guardians of the Galaxy had a much more interesting crew of misfits. The obligatory human Peter Quill AKA Star-Lord, the alien assassin - and adoptive daughter of Thanos - Gamora, the talking raccoon and weapons expert Rocket, the hulking tree-like Groot and the vengeful and tattooed alien Drax the Destroyer. All of those characters, despite their weird origins, were relatable though. So, essentially, they had everything the Avengers had and more. We could empathise and sympathise with them, as well as laugh along with them and root for them, but they were just so much more varied - and that trumps the comparatively dull nature of the current Avengers roster. When the two teams meet, however, that's going to be something well worth seeing.
