10 Reasons James Bond Is A Terrible Spy

1. His 'Bravery' Is Actually Psychopathy

In reality, psychopaths are very successful people. The ability not to empathise with others is crucial for getting ahead in many industries. No surprise then that a recent Channel 4 documentary on the subject placed Bond high up on the psychopathic spectrum. Despite all his flaws he is still repeatedly lauded as the best of the best, he gets all the best missions and is able to kill without a moment's hesitation. He shows many signs of psychopathy but while he may have many of the traits, they aren't all compatible. His erratic behaviour and outbursts of emotion suggests that while he can sometimes use these tendencies to be a successful killing machine, occasionally the mental issues he displays hinder him in the field. There is a clear unbalance to be found in his character if you dig deep enough, and this makes him a danger to himself as well as others. He struggles with guilt over lost loves while strangling someone to death, later drowning his sorrows with drink in an exclusive casino. This man has a lot of issues to deal with: sad, lonely and with no true love other than his country €“ it's only a matter of time before he self destructs and it won't be pretty when it happens. I'm a huge fan of James Bond €“ he's a national treasure, but there are some facts you cannot ignore. Do you see Bond as the perfect spy? Have I overstepped the mark? Agree or disagree, get yourself down to the comments and let us know what you think?
