10 Reasons Jurassic World Is The Best Sequel In The Franchise

6. A Convincing Story

Like the original, Jurassic World gave us a plot that was more than just another dinosaur breakout. Dwindling profits and bored visitors (some on their phones while watching a T-Rex at feeding time) were an interesting add on that commented quite accurately on the nature of our instant gratification culture. Even the resurrection of another world from 65 million years in the past would wear thin eventually, a concept brought through to fruition here. Alongside that, having the psychotic I-Rex raised alone in captivity offered a believable explanation for its behaviour that went a little deeper than 'that's just what dinosaurs do'. The previous sequels were less concerned with having something to say and more in giving any reason at all to get back to a certain money-spinner. That's not to say money wasn't the primary motive behind this film - it certainly was - but the writers at least distract you from that (for the most part).
