10 Reasons Jurassic World Is The Best Sequel In The Franchise

4. Chris Pratt

There have been one or two criticisms that Chris Pratt's character doesn't have much of an arc, but even if that is the case, it's easy to see why he's still being mentioned as a possible new Indiana Jones. Hollywood doesn't make many action/adventure heroes with charisma any more, so if anyone's going to take over from Harrison Ford it's this guy. Crucially, The Lost World and Jurassic Park III were missing humour and a confident hero who you could believe would really survive when things got ugly, which is exactly what you get here. Pratt's extremely convincing in the film's action sequences, running, jumping and motorcycling his way through whatever danger's thrown his way, but he's more than an action hero in this dino-flick. His relationship with the Raptors is one of the most interesting aspects of the film, and for an actor basically gesticulating to a green screen for much of filming, he does a good job of making the audience believe there is a real emotional bond there. The pathos he gets out of the Apatosaurus scene is also touching. And that's without mentioning all the wisecracks.
