10 Reasons Jurassic World Is The Best Sequel In The Franchise

3. The Nostalgia Factor

While the previous sequels tried to strike out in a different direction, pushing away from the spirit of the original rather than embracing it, Jurassic World welcomes nostalgia. It could have come off as a try-hard ploy to get Jurassic Park fans through the ticket machines, but actually it pays off. It all appears more like homage than piggy-backing and if you keep your eyes peeled, you'll be treated to numerous throwbacks to the original (and even moments from the sequels). There are even a few oblique tributes to the late Stan Winston and Richard Attenbrough if you look hard enough, not to mention numerous scenes with the I-Rex that mirror those with the Raptors from the original. This deference to the original had been bypassed by the sequels so far, but more fool them. Rather than trying to top what went before with increasingly bigger set pieces, more dinosaurs or a bigger body count, this film moves in a slightly different direction while paying Jurassic Park the respect it deserves.
