10 Reasons Marvel Shouldn't Mix The MCU And Netflix Characters
5. They Need To Maintain The Unique Tone
The next 5 years of MCU movies have already been planned with no signs of slowing down. That is a long time to essentially watch the same movie over and over again and superhero fatigue is bound to set in eventually.
A shot of adrenaline to combat this fatigue comes from Netflix. Each series has been completely unique so far, Daredevil's crime saga and battle with morality, Jessica Jones' exploration of abuse and consent and Luke Cage's The Wire-esque battle to save Harlem keep them separate not only from the MCU but even from each other.
The more adult, individual subject matter would surely take a hit if the Netflix characters featured in a family friendly Avengers movie. Sorry Timmy, you can't watch Daredevil series 3. I don't care if you saw him crackin' wise with Spider-man, he's just speared a man with his billy club!
As much as Marvel clearly have respect for their properties, movie making is a business and if Luke Cage became popular with kids from a movie appearance you better believe it'll bleed into the Netflix show. Sweet Christmas.
