4. Comic Book Movies
Dont get me wrong, I love all the comic book movies, but theyre taking a big chunk of Hollywoods attention. Big stars, big dollars and big revenue. This is all good reasoning to keep investing in comic book movies, even if they are bad (ghost rider series). And that might be the problem, if Hollywood thinks this is the big money maker, well bye-bye originality. No more room to let the little guy come in with a new story that has a chance to be a big hit. My real question and concern is how many times can we see the same the hero rebooted. Batmans been reincarnated five times and is more than likely going for a sixth time in the eventual Justice League franchise. Spidermans going for round two. Hulk has been seen four different times. Superman has seen about four different types of projects. This list goes on. Superheroes are certainly popular, but can we really keep interest if they are constantly rebooted. Nolan certainly set the bar high in the latest completed Dark Knight Trilogy. Does the next person to take on the project take the same sophisticated look and do their rendition of the origin story (Spiderman reboot had certainly no quarrels about this) or do they assume we are well aware of the beginnings? And good luck with meeting that high bar if you decide with the latter. Avengers and Justice League are certainly different and unique projects, but 10-15 years down the line when they are all said and down, does Hollywood go for a reboot. We be may subjected to seeing different actors try their take on superheroes we already strongly associate with another actor.
