10 Reasons Suicide Squad Sucked More Than Batman V Superman
1. It Had Even More Studio Interference
Reports have already emerged that Suicide Squad's post-production process was extremely arduous, with test screenings and the response to BvS dictating the "need" for re-shoots which are largely believed to have added more humour and also expanded Will Smith's role.
It's clear from the final product that the film was pulled in several different directions and the end movie is one that probably pleased neither the studio nor David Ayer completely. Perhaps we'll get an Ultimate Edition in a few months that restores Ayer's vision of the film, but it's clear from both BvS and this that Warner Bros. have a major problem with creative control, and the end result suffers every time.
While BvS was edited into oblivion, at least Snyder's version did get a snappy release as was made clear before the original film even hit cinemas, whereas there's no word on that about SS yet. It really feels like Warner tried to railroad Ayer here, whereas Snyder wasn't interfered with quite so aggressively.
