7. Breaking The Bat
As soon as we learned Batman would be facing off against Bane in TDKR, comic fans began to speculate whether or not Bane would 'break the bat' as he did in the arc that made him infamous - Knightfall. Not only did we get the iconic shot of Batman held over Bane's head before being snapped across his knee, we even got a paraphrase of the famous "I will break you" line. Nerdgasms aplenty. As much as I hoped it would happen, I never expected it would actually happen on film. Sure he dislocated Bruce's spine rather than breaking it, but this plays into Nolan's more realistic (I use that word loosely) take on the comic lore.
